A London catering platform has raised £1.7m from investors including one of the stars of Dragons’ Den.

Founded by friends Hugo Campbell and Digby Vollrath in 2017, Feast It gives its users access to book 650 of the UK’s top caterers and mobile bars.

The mobile caterers listed on the start-up’s platform can be booked for occasions including corporate events and weddings.

The investment round was led Jon Claydon, previously of advertising agency Claydon Heeley, and included Dragons’ Den star Sarah Willingham, entrepreneur John Ayton MBE and former Hut Group chairman Richard Pennycook.

It also included participation from Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman.

In 2018 the company grew by over 1,000 per cent and had secured £2.5m of enquiries a month.

“People want the food and drink to be a central talking point at their event; it’s no longer just an afterthought,” said Digby Vollrath, co-founder and CEO of Feast It.

“We carefully consider every supplier we work with to enable us to deliver exceptional food and drinks to every client.”

“In 2019, we’re aiming to quadruple the amount we’re making for our supplier partners.”

“We have big growth plans and we’re firmly set on full UK coverage, with a continued push to find the best suppliers across the country, starting with Edinburgh and Belfast.”
